Pathfinder Rank and Class Work

Pathfinders will follow their rack study based on their current school grade. While completing their current level a Pathfinder can concurrently work on any level that they have missed. Cornerstone Pathfinder Club follows the Florida Conference eight level Pathfinder rank system to include the E-Tracker (5th - 8th graders) and Varsity (9th - 12th graders) system.

  • FRIEND - 5th grade (E-Tracker)

    The Pathfinder Friend class level is a course of study in learning skills, and physical fitness that will help one to be a better neighbor now and a friend of God throughout eternity.

  • companion - 6th grade (E-Tracker)

    The Pathfinder Companion class level is a course of study in learning, skills, and physical fitness that will give more meaning to life and a companionship with Jesus Christ every hour of the day.

  • explorer - 7th grade (E-Tracker)

    The Pathfinder Explorer class level is a course of study that will help one to find new adventure in exploring God’s Word and His created works.

  • ranger - 8th grade (E-Tracker)

    The Pathfinder Ranger class level is a course of study that will open up new areas of discovery in the natural and spiritual world to secure true and genuine happiness.

  • voyager - 9th grade (Varsity)

    The Pathfinder Voyager class level is a course of study in physical, mental, cultural, and spiritual development that challenges the teen to develop a wholesome self-concept and Christian lifestyle.

  • pioneer - 10th grade (Varsity)

    The Pathfinder Pioneer class level is a course of study of being a pioneer of faith and a pioneer for Christ, always seeking a to become ever closer to God.

  • navigator - 11th grade (varsity)

    The Pathfinder Navigator class level is a course of study of the importance of allowing the Lord to navigate us though His truths, following the path that He has set before us.

  • guide - 12th grade (varsity)

    The Pathfinder Guide class level is a course of study that emphasizes personal growth and spiritual discoveries and prepares the pathfinder for development of new skills in leadership and survival techniques.

  • master guide

    The Master Guide is started when the Pathfinder begins high school and is completed within 4 yours.

Good Conduct Ribbon (GCR)

1. Be an active member for at least one year


2. Have a complete official class "A" Uniform with all insignia attached properly.


3. Have an excellent (90%+) record or higher of faithful attendance.


4. Have a conduct record consistent with the Pathfinder Pledge and Law.


5. Have a record of achievement and progress in the Pathfinder class levels, advanced class levels, honors and other comparable activities.


6. Have been invested in one Pathfinder class prior to being awarded the good conduct award.


Note: Staff are not allowed to wear awarded GCR ribbons on their uniform.

Advanced Class Ribbons

Advanced Class Ribbons are earned by completing an additional class project. The project must be completed and graded by Investiture. The class project must be completed individual, only exception are skits. Pathfinder may select one project from his/her class level to complete the requirement. These projects will be displayed during Investiture and the Pathfinder will be asked to explain their project and research. If a skit is selected the Pathfinder can recruit fellow Pathfinders to assist and may be asked to perform during Pathfinder Day. The pathfinders that participate in the skit will be awarded additional merit points for helping the Pathfinder complete their Advance Class Ribbon.

  • Trail Friend Ribbon

    Complete one of the following;


    - timeline of main events in Jesus life

    - collect and identify 15 different seeds

    - deploy a bird/mammal feeding station with report

  • trail companion ribbon

    Complete one of the following;


    - collect and identify 15 different leaves

    - report on 2 Adventist pioneers

    - plaster cast of 3 different animal tracks

  • wilderness explorer ribbon

    Complete one of the following;


    - collect and identify 10 ferns

    - report on the mission of sda before/after 1950

    - collect and identify 3 fossils

  • wilderness ranger ribbon

    Complete one of the following;


    - collect and identify 20 wild flowers

    - skit, the good samaritan

    - an experiment demonstrating a natural law of God

  • frontier voyager ribbon

    Complete one of the following;


    - collect and identify 6 different herbs, and what they are used in

    - report on life in a small stream

    - identify 10 different species of butterflies

  • frontier pioneer ribbon

    Complete one of the following;


    - collect and identify 10 fungi

    - skit, modern day issues that effect teens and how to deal with them

    - find 3 geocaching containers near your home and leave a Pathfinder item

  • frontier navigator ribbon

    Complete one of the following;


    - collect and identify 10 wild edible plants in your local area

    - construct a solar powered device

    - report on 10 ways to improve our environment

  • frontier guide ribbon

    Complete one of the following;


    - collect and identify 6 edible roots

    - submit a revision or create a new Pathfinder honor

    - collect and identify 15 rocks/minerals
